The book "Latvijas meža putni" (Forest birds) is the first volume in "Birds of Latvia" series published by the Latvian Ornithological Society (BirdLife Partner in Latvia). It covers 87 species of forest birds. The book is primarily designed as a guide for field identification in Latvia. However, it includes some encyclopedic information - phenological data, numbers and distribution in Latvia and neighbouring countries, whitch may be interest also to foreign readers.
